WP1. Project Management
The aim of WP1 is the effective administrative, financial, technical and scientific management of the TraCEREAL project. The project coordinator, along with the technical coordinator and the research manager, will ensure the effective collaboration among the consortium members and WP leaders. The main objectives of WP1 are to: (i) provide the coordination of the used tools, data resources and evaluation activities; (ii) develop the risk management and quality control framework of TraCEREAL; (iii) promote the awareness of objectives to all participating parties; (iv) monitor the performance and progress of the project, while ensuring the in-time delivery of its outcomes; (v) prepare and distribute the required documentation to consortium members and EC, and (vi) extend the understanding of the project’s impacts by involving a diverse set of stakeholders and existing ecosystems, following a dedicated communication and dissemination strategy.
WP2. Dissemination and Exploitation Activities
The aim of WP2 is to launch concrete initiatives to promote TraCEREAL and raise awareness around it, to disseminate its concepts and results among academics and professionals, to boost its future adoption and to prepare the market deployment and maximize the chances of success of TraCEREAL go-to-market. The main objectives of WP2 are: (i) to disseminate project’s technologies to the scientific community, the edge computing systems communities, and the general stakeholders, raise awareness about the project and boost the exploitation activities, (ii) to manage the preparation, planning, and execution of exploitation of the project’s results and achievements, (iii) to draft a sustainability plan for the maintenance of the project’s results following its completion, (iv) to handle IPRs and provide valuable feedback to relative standardisation bodies and consortiums with regard to the integration of the respective technologies and (v) to monitor the market environment relevant to the work performed in the project in order to develop an efficient exploitation plan for the project’s technologies.
WP3. Conceptual Architecture, Methodology & MVP
WP3 is dedicated to acquiring a deep understanding of end-user requirements and system characteristics that are fundamental to the TraCEREAL concept. The objectives of WP3 are: (i) to define the functional, structural, operational and technical components of the project through a participatory design approach, (ii) to outline detailed specifications of the use case scenarios, elicit and assess user requirements and system specifications towards designing a scalable and modular architecture for the TraCEREAL solution, (iii) to measure the progress of the development of the individual tools, its compliance with the project’s demonstrators and facilitate the evaluation of the overall solution, (iv) To ensure a seamless and market-driven, from both a conceptual and a technical point of view, integration and interoperability of the TraCEREAL models and tools.
WP4. TraCEREAL Services, Integrated Platform and Infrastructure
The objectives of WP4 are: (i) to design and build of IoT infrastructure, (ii) to develop a semantically rich knowledge graph to accommodate the scaling and dynamics of TraCEREAL deliberation, to develop the accessible and intuitive user interface for participants to contribute to the foreseen evidence-based deliberation (T4.3); (iv) to develop a set of explainability and reporting functionalities that enhance the interpretability of food management related deliberations and associated decision making processes, based on prominent Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) techniques such as Layer-wise Relevance Propagation (LRP) (T4.4).
WP5. TraCEREAL Demonstrator and Evaluation
The aim of WP5 is to: (i) To design a concrete evaluation framework that can be used in order to assess the quality of the TraCEREAL framework, and how this applied to the designed pilot (ii) To set up and deploy the actual industrial testbed where the pilot demonstration will be executed; (iii)To gather feedback from the execution of the demonstrators regarding the TraCEREAL framework indices and make this data available to the relevant stakeholders (iv) To assess the impact that TraCEREAL can have on the cereal supply chain, especially focusing on the peculiarities of the climatic and environmental conditions in Cyprus; (v) To assess the vertical business impact, examining the financial impact on individual level as well as the impact on national level; (vi) To facilitate decision making and design a set of strategies based upon the demonstrators’ evaluation outcomes, that could be put in place in the upcoming years, empowering the monitoring of the cereal supply chain.
